Summer Break!

I guess I unintentionally took a Summer Break from blogging. But I'm back! July was a really busy time for us...with many patients smiling in their new braces. Check out some of their videos in the sidebar.

Last weekend, Patterson Orthodontics sponsored a Youth Leadership Seminar. (Just check out the link for more information about it...but the speaker, Dan Ralphs, really fired up the youth about their potential to become leaders--in the future and now!)

Dr. Rob and I (btw...the author of this blog is his wife, Angie :) ) also attended an adults only session Friday evening. We both left that evening inspired to be better leaders...in our family, our business, and our community. Let me share a few principles Mr. Ralphs shared with us.

1. "Live life on Purpose" Basically, we are in control of our own lives and we can change things that bug us.

2. "Live life in Detail" Pay attention to detail...how you treat someone is how you treat everyone.

3. "Exposure to Greatness" Come face to face with greatness by reading the classics and biographies of great leaders.

4. "Get Caught Up in a Higher Purpose" Kids notice and are more likely to follow suit when their parents support a cause that matters.

One of our Higher Purposes will be to continue to support these kinds of seminars. Our youth are tomorrows leaders...or followers, if they never learn to lead. This leadership seminar is the first in a series. And we will let you know when the next one is scheduled.
